Apple today announced it has sold over three billion songs through iTunes.

iTunes offers a catalogue of five million songs and has become the third largest music retailer in the US, bigger than Amazon and local chain, Target.

“We’d like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.
