All-in-one podcast creation software reaches final release status
All-in-one podcast creation software, Ubercaster 1.0, is available now, following extensive beta testing.
Übercaster is a complete production suite for podcasting on the Mac, offering show hosts tools for podcast preparation, recording, editing and releasing shows.
Features include live audio recording, auto ducking, effects, chapters for enhanced podcasts, ID3 tags, album cover art, MP3/AAC/AIFF encoding – and uploading, all within an easy-to-navigate user interface.
The software ships with numerous project templates and can accomodate audio input from a range of different microphones, iChat, Skype and Gizmo.
Developed in Cocoa, the software implements all Mac OS X's background support for multimedia: CoreAudio, CoreImage and multithreading, for example.
The $79.95 software requires a G4, G5 or Intel Mac running OS X 10.4.4 or later.
For a limited time, users can purchase Ubercaster with a copy of Feeder (normal price, $29.95) for $95.
