Extensis has released Portfolio Server 8.5, the latest addition to its asset management product range.

Portfolio Server is an automate asset management system with web delivery support. This version delivers new capabilities to workgroups using Adobe CS3.

The software includes Mac and Windows clients, a complete web publishing solution and integration for CS3 applications.

Included with Portfolio Server 8.5 is Portfolio Project Sync for Adobe Creative Suite 3. Developed in partnership with Adobe, Project Sync offers seamless integration between Portfolio Server and CS3. It enables asset search, archive and web delivery tools from within CS3 applications.

Additional improvements include support for automating metadata capture, tools for the application of consistent metadata rules and automatic watermarking tools.

The software also provides better EPS and PDF support than in the previous version, alongside support for a range of new Camera RAW formats.

Portfolio Server SQL Connect support for MySQL 5, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and Oracle 10g R2 also debuts in this release.

Portfolio Server 8.5 for workgroups is available now (US price $6,050). The software is free of charge for existing customers with Annual Service Agreements.
