Adobe will report its first quarter earnings today while the company gears up to webcast the New York launch of the hotly-awaited Adobe Creative Suite 3.

As previously reported on Macworld UK, Adobe will host a special New York City special event to mark the launch of CS3 on 27 March. The company previously confirmed it will make the launch event available as a webcast on the day.

Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen, president and chief operating officer, Shantanu Narayen and the company's senior vice president of creative solutions, John Loiacono will present the new software. Adobe is calling the launch the "largest software release in its 25-year history."

Meanwhile analysts are expecting Adobe will reveal a quarter broadly in line with predictions later today, anticipating $655.3 million in revenue, according to Thomson financial.

The company is expected to see significant gains on the release of CS 3 in its coming quarter, as graphic and design professionals acquire their copies of the new software suite.

Adobe CS 3 will offer Universal applications, designed to run natively on both Intel and PowerPC Macs.
