Apple has shipped a security update for its open source Darwin Streaming Server.

Darwin Streaming Server 5.5.5 is now available and addresses
multiple security issues in which remote attackers could use the software to help them mpunt an attack against a computer running Darwin.

Specifically, the update fixes identified flaws in the operation of the help and the stack buffers. Apple credits an "anonymous researcher working with the iDefense VCP for reporting this issue."

The update is available for Mac, Windows and Linux versions of the software.
