West-Forest-Systems has released CDFinder 5.0 a major update to the cross-platform cataloguing solution.

CDFinder ($39) is an application to help users organize their disk and data archives, and keep track of digital media assets.

The new version sports an updated user interface; catalogue image thumbnails; Unicode support and now integrates with Toast 8, FileMaker and other applications.

The software can catalogue any data disk, CD-ROM, DVD, iPod, network volume, or audio-CD.

CDFinder can import different catalogue formats and read most metadata on audio and image files. It will catalogue audio CDs, is searchable using Spotlight and integrates with AppleScript, so users can build their own custom workflows.

Contents of archive files can be cataloged as well, including
tuffIt, StuffIt Deluxe, Compact Pro, ZIP (used by Mac OS X), TAR, .rar,
and others.

CDFinder requires Mac OS X 10.4 or newer and runs natively on PowerPC and Intel-Macs.
