Virtual Programming has released Championship Manager 2007, the latest version of its popular football manager game.

The company said: "All football fans around the world believe they know more about football than anybody else. More than the guy sat next to them at the match, more than the people commentating on the game, more than the manager of their local team. Championship Manager is the closest you'll ever come to the highs and lows of real football management."

The 2007 version of the game introduces several new features and improvements, including the new ProZone.

ProZone is an area of the game that offers full match analysis – as used by 'real' football managers. Armchair managers can access stats for every player and every game, including goals scored, runs made and shots/passes/tackles made.

It also includes comprehensive updates to player, staff, club and league data - including Conference North and South, and it contains all transfers up to the end of the January 2007 transfer window.

International management, an improved user interface and the opportunity to engage in team talks all feature in this release. Player interactions have also been improved, as player characters have been dosed up with extra personality.

The game requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, 256MB or more memory and 400MB of free disk space. The title costs £29.95.
