Chronos has released SOHO Labels & Envelopes 2.0, its software for the design and print of stationery.

The new version offers a completely unified single-window interface and many new features, such as the Smart Inspector, Project Wizard, and a Favourites and a Text Bin. The latter two features lets users store frequently used logos or text within the application itself.

Smart Inspector appears only when needed and is context-sensitive so users only see the tools they currently need. Project Wizard lets users choose from a selection of pre-designed projects.

Graphics, text, and shapes can now be grouped together as a single object that can be moved, resized, and rotated as a single entity, and designs can be placed on an unlimited number of layers.

The software also offers built-in image adjustment and cropping tools, powerful masking tools and over 30 special effects, such as Gaussian Blur. Users can also zoom the image in a crop while they're performing the crop.

Additional features include Grid Overlay or Underlay, the ability to lock and unlock objects within a design, a perspective tool and the ability to create and use arrows of any size or proportion.

The software ships with 13,000 designer-quality photographs, photos of objects and vector clip art images; 50 Bitstream fonts; and a collection of matching label, envelope, and letterhead sets.

SOHO Labels & Envelopes is compatible with over 1,500 popular label and envelope stocks including those from Avery, PaperDirect, DYMO, APLI, Formtec and more.

Users can add POSTNET, PLANET, UK Royal Mail, and Japan Post barcodes to envelopes and address labels to expedite shipping and ensure proper delivery.

A powerful automatic numbering or serial number feature can be used to create raffle and admission tickets or to create numbered groups of shipping cartons.

A fully functional 30-day trial version is available, the software costs $39.99.
