Corel has released version 12 of its digital art studio software, Painter.
Corel Painter 12 includes a new customisable user interface with a redesigned Navigator Panel, updated palette and panel behaviour, custom workflow workspaces and enhanced preservation of colours and layers, according to the company.
It is also between three and five times faster than its predecessor for some tasks, Corel said, and now includes new brushes including Real Watercolour and Real Wet Oil.
There are also new Kaleidoscopic effects and a Mirror Paintin feature that lets you create automatic symmetry by mirroring the plane vertically and horizontally.
"Our Painter community has always been the driving force behind our development priorities," said Andy Church, Product Manager for Corel Painter at Corel.
"Our goal is to consistently provide our artists with powerful tools that enable them to expand and express their creative visions and to achieve the most stunning and realistic results possible. Our artists provide the inspiration and Painterprovides the power, freedom, and control unmatched in any other creative environment."
Corel Painter 12 is available now for £274.80 for the full version and £142.80 for the upgrade. It is available for Mac OS and Windows.
A fully-functional trial version is available to download from Corel's website.
