AM Micro is now distributing iProof's PowerRIP X software for the Epson Stylus Pro 3800.

PowerRIP X helps photographers and visual artists produce the best possible quality colour-matched proofs from the Epson photo printer. The software supports the improved screening possible on the 3800, making for far more detailed output. PowerRIP X also supports a range of printers from other manufacturers.

This software also means that only one colour profile is needed for each media type, regardless of print resolution settings even if bi-directional printing is used.

Users of PowerRIP X get free ICC profiling for the 3800. Epson uses colorimetric calibration at the factory to ensure consistent colour on any 3800. This enables remotely made ICC profiles to be used successfully. iProof Systems will profile any untested paper without cost so long as it works with the UltraChrome K3 inks.

Users looking to build special colour profiles for unusual jobs can do so quickly and easily using a spectrophotometer. Printers suspected of drifting off perfect colour can be recalibrated in this way too.

PowerRIP X is available now. With support for a range of printers, the full version costs £199 excluding VAT, support for the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 only is be £129 excluding VAT.
