Prosoft Engineering has launched a new consumer-focused spin-off company, JoeSoft, shipping the brand's first product, easy-to-use digital image recovery solution, Klix.

Klix recovers digital pictures after reformat, deletion or card corruption. Klix recovers all common image formats, from any USB, FireWire, IEEE 1394 or iLINK camera. The award-winning software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms and costs £34.50.

Klix is distributed in the UK by AM Micro. A digital download version of the software is available directly from JoeSoft.

Prosoft publishes Data Rescue, Drive Genius and Netware software for Macs, and plans to apply its advanced technologies to produce a range of consumer-focused solutions through its JoeSoft brand.

The company plans to offer customers free technical support, low cost software replacement policies and generous free upgrade periods.

"JoeSoft is dedicated to bringing great software to the masses at reasonable prices, said Greg Brewer, CEO of JoeSoft.
