Microsoft has released its first Dashboard widget for Mac OS X, Live Search mini.

The little utility lets users search the web using the Widget, rather than a full-fledged web browser, though pages you find evidently pop-up in a browser when you visit them.

"A cool and easy access to Live Search engine! web results are directly displayed in the widget, without opening your browser. Number of results, language, and display can be personalized," notes accompanying the widget explain.

It's a Universal application designed to function on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.

Some readers have reported some bugs in the product – principally, the widget apparently will not save preference changes between sessions when used with a PowerPC Mac.
