Quark has reached a strategic deal with digital-asset management solutions provider Picdar.

The two companies will integrate their mutual technologies as part of the deal.

Picdar's Media Mogul content management system is in use at a diverse range of companies, including the majority of UK newspapers, Quark claims. Media Mogul lets users automate the management and re-use of digital media across print and new media channels.

Like Picdar's Media Mogul, Quark Publishing System (QPS) is based on open-standards technology and is also used by newspaper publishers. "The similarities between the products and companies' goals provided a strong foundation for forming this strategic partnership," Quark explains.

"This alliance with Picdar reinforces our commitment to the continued development of our open-standard technologies to give users across a wide range of production specialisations even higher levels of functionality and flexibility within a highly streamlined workflow," said Ed Ewing, sales director Northern Europe, Quark.
