US regulators are questioning Adobe over its stock options accounting practices.

The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has sent a letter to Adobe asking for information about its stock options accounting, Bloomberg News reports.

The letter was dated 31 January and refers to Adobe's own internal enquiry, which revealed a series of problems — including incorrect dates — for options supplied to some employees, the report explains.

Adobe has confirmed some occassions at which stock options grants have been applied retrospectively, the report implies.
