NEC-Mitsubishi has launched its MultiSync 1880SX LCD monitor, which has an 18.1-inch viewable screen.

Available in either metallic silver or black brushed-aluminium casings, the unit offers a brightness of 240cdpm with a contrast ratio of 350:1, support for 16.77 million colours and a resolution of 1,280-x-1,024 at 60Hz. The screen is surrounded by an ultra thin bevel, and is mounted on a newly developed pivot mechanism for flexible movement – the monitor also revolves, so it offers both landscape and portrait views. It supports DVI-I and DVI-D/VGA connections.

Other features include: auto adjust; contrast; brightness; fine adjust (analogue); six-axis colour control; and monitor info. There are a number of colour controls built in, including sharpness and phase controls for each colour. The unit also has an auto-brightness mode.

NEC-Mitsubishi has minimized in-use power consumption – the unit also operates in a standby mode and possesses a power off timer.

The 1880SX costs £899 (excluding VAT).
