In excess of 1.5 million users have signed-up for paid subscriptions to the Chinese version of "World of Warcraft" since its introduction last month.

Blizzard Entertainment’s "World of Warcraft" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Players pay a subscription to participate.

The news means the total number of "World of Warcraft" subscribers across the planet is now more than 3.5 million, according to Blizzard. In addition to China, the game is available in South Korea, North America and Europe, it said.

Blizzard plans to roll out "World of Warcraft" in other Asian countries, including Taiwan, it said.
