Blender Creator is available for free download and is a cross-platform integrated 3D-creation suite.
Blender has been available to many platforms (excepting Mac OS) since 1998 and is an open source application. It has been distributed freely since that time, winning praise within the Linux community – with the caveat that learning the application has a steep learning curve.
The basic Blender release supports environment and texture mapping, radiosity, and a host of advanced features such as particle systems and distributed network rendering.
Known bugs in this alpha version of Blender Creator include incompatibilities with early versions of Mac OS X, causing Creator to crash at start-up. Another problem involves the maximizing of windows, which can sometimes produce screen artefacts.
