Former graphics processor-upgrade manufacturer 3dfx, purchased by NVidia last year, has announced plans to close its remaining Web site.
The company announced its dissolution in December 2000. This followed a significant collapse in the company's sales of products such as its Voodoo3 and Voodoo5 boards. It also came as the company was embroiled in legal proceedings with NVidia, and at a time when, given the softness of the IT sector, the company was unable to achieve a line of credit to stay in business.
A note on the Web site reads: "3dfx is no longer providing support for any 3dfx products and drivers." The site is scheduled to close on February 19.
For owners of 3dfx equipment, drivers, 3rd party drivers, tips and other resources will be made available at www.voodoofiles.com.
