3dfx has quietly announced its plans to support Apple’s Display Connector (ADC) in future products.
Apple’s ADC connector first appeared on the G4 Cube. The revolutionary connector combines power, USB and analogue and digital video signals into one cable.
Scott Sellers, founder and chief technology officer at 3dfx, said: "We believe simplifying interconnection can only benefit computer users everywhere." Bryan Speece, director of Mac business development at 3dfx, said: "We look forward to supporting this connection standard in our future products."
Clent Richardson, Apple’s vice president of developer relations said: "The availability of 3dfx’s high end Voodoo5 5500 cards coupled with 3dfx’s strong developer program will promote exciting new solutions for professionals and gamers alike."
