Amacom Technologies has released the Flip2disk disaster and recovery drive.

Flip2disk holds up to 40GB of data. Data-transfer rates are as fast as the internal hard drive, claims the company. Compatible with Macs, the device is supplied with back up software – called FlipBack – that backs up internal-hard-drive system files.

The Flip2disk can be used with Disk Station, a facility for full disaster-recovery, which has the ability to boot different operating systems on the same computer.

The Flip2disk has four storage capacities, 10GB, 20GB, 30GB and is 40GB, priced at £159, £195, £289 and £385 respectively. An interface cable must be bought separately.
