4DUK has released 4D WebStar Server Suite V public beta for Mac OS X.

This beta benefits from Mac OS X's multiprocessor support, pre-emptive multitasking and faster networking.

The Administration architecture has been overhauled to grant permissions for virtual host-administrators. The Admin Server has been separated from the Web Server to monitor servers and maximize upload time.

Written in 100 per cent Java, the new Admin Client communicates via Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) for secure administration. Security has been improved with secure default-settings, flexible access-control and authentication.

4D WebStar Server Suite V public beta for Mac OS X has both an integrated FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server and WebDav HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) file service. Search capabilities have also been enhanced with full site indexing, searching and remote crawling.

This beta is available for download.
