MacEase has released PrintMagic 4.0 for OS X, software that lets users print selected text or images from within almost any application.

This easy-to-use software lets users select exactly what they want to print using its self-configured system-wide keyboard shortcuts, or through drag-and-drop or single -click commands.

As a research tool, selections of text and images from any number of sources can be gathered together and placed on PrintMagic’s PrintBoard. There they can be saced, edited or printed, so users can print documents containing data from multiple sources within one edited document.

PrintMagic also adds a Desktop Printer to OS X that supports drag-and-drop printing of either text or images. Users can also print clipping files by dropping them onto the Desktop Printer, which the company claims is designed to work with virtually all printers.

The software requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later. A free, fully functional demonstration version is available for download. PrintMagic costs $25.
