Adobe has extended its educational discount scheme to individual students and educators in the UK and Ireland.

Mark Floisand, marketing director for Adobe, said: "Adobe has supported universities and colleges for the past seven years, and we are happy to now extend this to individual students and teachers."

The scheme offers discounts of up to 75 per cent on a list of products, including: Adobe Photoshop; Illustrator; Acrobat; Premiere; After Effects; and GoLive. Discounts also apply on the various Adobe Collection solutions.

Sue Gollifer, dissemination officer at the IT Research and Development Unit at The London Institute, said: "This initiative will make professional applications more widely accessible to students and teachers, and helps us to meet the educational challenges of the digital revolution."

Products are available for sale through Adobe's participating education resellers. The company estimates that Photoshop 6.0 will cost £260 and InDesign 1.5 £130 (including VAT) to students and teachers as a result of the extended deal.
