BBC Magazines has migrated to using Adobe InDesign, Adobe announced today.

The news means some of the leading UK magazine titles will now be created using Adobe's publishing solution, a signal of the intensification of competition between Adobe and Quark. Titles include: It's Hot! Magazine, EVE, Olive, Good Food and Good Homes. All the titles will be on InDesign by October 2004.

"We adopted Adobe software in response to the needs of the business," said Julian Adams, publishing systems manager, BBC Worldwide. "We chose It's Hot! Magazine for the pilot because of its complex page layout and design and are pleased to say Adobe's rich set of features passed the test.

"Adobe's software not only enabled us to produce our publications with greater efficiency but the support Adobe offered was also a key factor in our final decision."
