Adobe has introduced InDesign 1.5, an enhanced version of its DTP software.

InDesign 1.5 offers over 70 new features and even tighter integration with the rest of Adobe's DTP range - sharing tools, commands, palettes and keyboards with Illustrator and Photoshop.

InDesign 1.5 can preserve Alpha channel information when native Photoshop files are imported, so you can use existing information when assigning text runarounds or image masks. Improved integration with Adobe PressReady, InProduction and InCopy is also featured.

There are a host of new and enhanced features in InDesign, which is expected to ship in April and to cost £439. Registered users of InDesign 1.0 can upgrade to 1.5 for £59. Mac OS 8.5 or later and 128MB memory are recommended.
