Adobe is giving $1.5million towards Groundwork 2001, a United Nations campaign.

The UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) runs the campaign annually, to help tackle world hunger.

Adobe's contribution to Groundwork 2001 will support a series of concerts held from October 14 to 22 in Seattle, Washington. The musical line up will incldue R.E.M, Alannis Morissette and Pearl Jam. Income from the events will aid global farming and agricultural enterprises by promoting self-sufficiency.

Bruce Chizen, Adobe president and CEO said: "Since the company’s inception in 1982, we've believed corporate philanthropy is important in times of plenty, and in times of economic uncertainty, when there's a greater need for support."
