Adobe has confirmed that all worldwide registered customers who bought InDesign before January 1, 2000 for the full price, rather than the promotional price, will receive a free upgrade to 1.5.

Also, all customers who bought the original product up to one month before the upgrade was announced will receive the free upgrade.

The company's president Chuck Geschke admitted last week that Adobe had backtracked about charging £59 for the upgrade, after an outcry from InDesign users.

Adobe will provide details on its Web site about how qualified customers can receive the free upgrade.
