Adobe has updated its DNG Converter and Camera Raw plug-in.

The Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in enables easy access to Raw image formats in professional and mid-range digital cameras from Canon, Fujifilm, Minolta, Nikon and Olympus. It allows photographers to directly manipulate the original data captured by a digital camera sensor, producing images with superior tonal range and the maximum amount of detail.

The update to Adobe's Camera Raw Plug-In adds compatibility for six new cameras, bringing the total now supported to 70. The new cameras include Canon's EOS 20D, PowerShot S70 PowerShot G6 and EOS-1Ds Mark II, and Konica Minolta's DiMAGE A200 and Maxxum 7D.

Adobe's DNG Converter converts raw formats into a single universal format –.DNG, basically a digital negative. New capabilities added to the DNG Converter include support for the above six cameras as well as the ability to store the original files within the translated DNG and save all versions of image data.

Both downloads are free and require Mac OS X 10.3.4 or higher.
