Aladdin Systems has released version three of Aladdin Tuner.

Aladdin Tuner 3.0 combines an Internet radio tuner with an MP3 and CD player, and includes what the company claims to be the "world’s most comprehensive" database of live Internet radio stations.

Slip me some skin The software also supports "skins". A skin is a set of graphics used by an application to create its appearance, these can be configured by users to create their own look and feel for an application.

Aladdin Tuner offers access to over 3,400 streaming-audio and video broadcasts. The program supports RealAudio and RealVideo streams, QuickTime and Windows Media player. The tuner database is automatically updated, so new broadcast sites are added as they go live, users can add their own "frequencies" too.

The integrated Aladdin Tuner World Browser lets users locate Internet broadcasts by geographical location with a single click. The Tuner also includes a search engine capable of searching by format, genre, location or name.

MP3 files and CD audio are supported, and the Tuner is compatible with the CDDB - a giant database of CD and track names.

Aladdin Tuner requires a PowerPC Mac running Mac OS 8.0 or higher, 10MB RAM and an Internet connection. Available now from Aladdin, the Tuner costs $29.95, and is available for download from www.aladdin.com. Registered users of MacTuner qualify for a free upgrade.
