Amazon UK is expanding its offering to Mac-using members of its 3.5 million online-consumer community.

The company is actively seeking third-party Mac peripherals vendors to work with it under the Market Place scheme. Several popular Mac vendors have already been signed up – Amazon representatives were at last week's MacExpo seeking new partners.

Amazon already sells Macs through its US online store, where Mac buyers are rewarded with a free Palm Zire handheld PDA. UK customers are currently being offered free shipping on any order over £39.99 – the first time Amazon UK has been able to make such an offer.

Amazon recently announced its first profitable quarter, with international sales growing 90 per cent year-on-year to $264 million. Company insiders confess to being "very happy" with Amazon's Christmas offering.
