Apple will be forced to move to Intel processors in late 2003, claims analyst firm the Giga Information Group.

MacCentral reports that the analysts have released a report taking a look at the dominant trends in the IT industry. The report covers over 85 areas, including wireless, telecoms and security. Its research indicates that buyers remain conservative in outlook; the return on technological investment being considered more important that strategic advantages.

The report confirms that the market remains soft, with Linux winning corporate loyalty and a retreat from Unix-based systems.
