Apple's chief financial officer, Fred Anderson, has advanced his position on Palm parent-company3Com's board, becoming lead outside director.

3Com announced the departure of AT&T president, David Dorman, last Friday evening (January 18). Dorman has sat on 3Com's board since 1995, but faces an increasing portfolio of responsibilities at AT&T.

3Com's profile of Anderson reveals more about the extent of his responsibilities at Apple: "In his capacity as CFO, Anderson oversees the controller, treasury, investor relations, tax, information systems, internal audit facilities, corporate development and human resources functions."
