Antitrust regulators at the US Department of Justice have been given more time to review Adobe's proposed acquisition of Macromedia.

Adobe has voluntarily withdrawn and refilled its pre-merger notification and report form. It says the refiling is a "procedural step to provide the staff at the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice with additional time to review the information submitted by Adobe and Macromedia".

Adobe says it still expects the deal to close this autumn.
