Apple is backing a drive to unearth fresh UK film, television and games creatives.

The company is co-sponsoring the Ridley Scott Awards, run by Escape Studios a London-based centre for creative excellence.

The studio has collaborated with renowed film director Ridley Scott to create a new range of creative awards. Scott was the director of seminal sci-fi movies, Blade Runner and Alien.

The awards cover animation, visual effects, motion graphics, and games and are open to anyone not currently employed in these industries. Winners will receive a copy of Alias|Wavefront’s Maya, Apple’s Shake compositing software and a work-experience placement with a top company.
