A day after Apple revealed its 2005 financial results, the company hosted a special event in San Jose, California, with a corresponding invitation-only event in London at the BBC.

Apple announced a video-playing iPod, featuring realtime decoding of MPEG 4 and H.264 video. The video iPods come in two configurations.

The new iPod is joined by a new version of iTunes – just a month after the previous release of a software update. Itunes 6 is available for download now.

The company also unveiled a new iMac, with new functionality – including a remote control and built-in iSight webcam.
