Apple is boosting its presence in the architecture and design markets.

In a note on its Web site, Apple says: "The AutoCAD product manager would like to hear from people interested in having [AutoCAD publisher] Autodesk develop AutoCAD for Mac OS X. Let him know what you think."

AutoCAD - now on AutoCAD 2004 and available for PCs - is an interactive drawing system designed for drafting and design. Of use in both 2D and 3D projects, it has been in existence for 21 years. The application's name has become synonymous with drafting in architectural and engineering fields.

The current version introduces new features such as productivity tools and presentation graphics to boost productivity.
