Apple is accepting nominations for its eighth Apple Design Awards.

The awards recognize innovation, advanced Mac OS X look and feel, the use of Apple technologies in third-party OS X-based products and new high-quality products in the OS X market.

Seven Design Award winners and seven runners-up will be announced in the following categories: Best Mac OS X Product; Best Mac OS X Student product; Best Mac OS X User Experience; Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption; Best Use of Open Source; Best Mac OS X Server Solution and Most Innovative Mac OS X Product.

Winners will receive a 17-inch G4 PowerBook and a Cinema Display. They also win a trophy and the right to use the associated prize logo in product marketing. Awards will be presented during the company's Worldwide Developers Conference, May 19-23.
