Apple has moved to deny a recent report that it claims a four year life for its iPods.

Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris told iLounge that she was misquoted in the Chicago Tribune report on failing iPods that appeared last week.

The report had quoted her statements that iPods have a low failure rate and that they are designed to last for "four years". In fact, Kerris claims she told the reporter that the music players are designed to last "for years".
