Apple sales shot up 47 per cent in Croatia last year, transforming the region into one of the world's fastest growing markets for the company.

At a press briefing last week, Apple Computer Croatia confirmed the positive trend continues: 2006 sales increases are currently up 40 per cent year on year, a report claims, citing Apple official Nina Bulovec.

"At the same time, in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year, Apple sold in Croatia 19 per cent more computers and six times more iPods," Bulovec reportedly explained.
