Apple's UK iTunes service may soon make the first few TV shows available for purchase, a report claims.

AppleInsider reports that NBC Universal is "close to signing a deal" with Apple to distribute content. iTunes US has sold 12 million TV show downloads so far.

The report claims NBC will test UK waters by selling science-fiction shows, including 'Battlestar Galactica'. Alfred Hitchcock presents is also in the frame, according to the report.

Apple defines such discussion as "rumour and speculation", and has no official news yet on the UK TV download situation.
