Although Apple has now released iCal, there will be a delay until iSync is available for download, reported Apple CEO Steve Jobs during his keynote address at Apple Expo Paris.

iCal’s companion product iSync, which was announced alongside the calendar at July’s Macworld Expo in New York, will be available as a beta product later in September, Jobs said during his keynote.

iSync is device-synchronization software that automatically synchronizes your contact and calendar information between your Mac, your cell phone, your PDA, your iPod, and your Mac OS X Address Book, letting you stay organized, on top of your schedule, and in touch with your family and friends with a click of your mouse, according to Apple. The company claims that, with iSync, “you can have your contact information and your calendar with you wherever you go, and you’ll know the information is accurate and up to date”.
