Apple will attend Europe's major music industry event, Midem 2005 once again.
The company says it will, "use the event to showcase its industry-leading music solutions". The event takes place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from January 23 to 27.
"Visit us at stand R31.00 in the Espace Riviera and find out how Apple is spearheading the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes Music Store," the company states.
Napster used the show last year to warn labels to "stay off the Apple platform". Napster attends once again this year. Other attendees include: the Association of Independent Music, Intertrust, MTV, Napster, Sanctuary Records, Siemens, Snocap, SONY BMG Music Entertainment, The Orchard, Universal Music International, Vodafone, Warp Records and Bleep.com.
The annual Music & Technology Forum, which precedes MIDEM on 22 January (Palais des Festivals), presents a dedicated conference entitled: “Digital Indies – Making Their Own Way,” and takes a look at the possibilities for independent labels to benefit from online technologies and achieve greater market access.
Also during MidemNet, Martin Mills, Chairman of Beggars Group (UK) will present a keynote on the new role of independent labels.
