As Macworld Expo 2000 opens today in New York, Apple has demanded that three Mac rumour sites remove speculation concerning "new" products.

Apple's legal department has demanded that a reader’s letter – claiming insider knowledge of product announcements – be removed from the MacInTouch site.

It follows further Apple contact with Mac OS Rumours and AppleInsider. Both sites were asked to remove postings about rumoured Apple product announcements.

The "product" at the centre of the legal storm is the so-called Mac Cube. MacOS Rumors has removed its Cube story, but AppleInsider has yet to follow suit.
