Apple Computer has slipped back one place to 301st in the annual Fortune 500 ranking of America's largest companies.
Apple's revenue last year was $6.207 billion dollars. Top spot for for the third year in a row is Wal-Mart Stores with $258.681 billion. HP is 11th ($73.061), Dell 31st ($41.444), and Microsoft 46th ($32.187) – up one place from last year. Intel is 53rd with $30.141, and Walt Disney is 60th ($21.061).
Fortune magazine's 500 listing is closely followed by business and government and is even listed in Webster's New World Dictionary as a synonym for the most prestigious, influential and largest corporations.
