Apple, Intel and IBM will report their earnings this week, and Apple is expected to report a rise in income.

When Apple reveals its results July 15 Bloomberg reports analyst optimism that the company will say third-quarter net income rose to 15 cents per share on revenues of $1.95 billion. Apple earned 5 cents per share a year earlier.

While Apple does not comment on future plans, investors are thought to be optimistic for the release of its future Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) OS, and speculation surrounding the future release of its upgraded iMac range in September.

Apple will webcast its results announcement from 10pm (BST) in QuickTime format.

Intel and IBM are also expected to release positive reports.
