Apple has uploaded a page to its Web site containing basic information about PowerPC Linux, with links to various utilities and "distributions" regarding the operating system's use on the PowerPC platform.

The page contains links to a number of PPC Linux utilities, including BootX, a Linux booter for Mac OS. The page also promises to offer News regarding Linux's use on the PPC platform.

This upload follows last August's decision by IBM to distribute a free PowerPC-based motherboard design for the Linux and Open Source community. At the time this was seen as a threat to Apple's monopoly on the sale of PowerPC's, but industry analysts feel Apple's forays into the open source "scene" are bearing more positive fruit.
