Apple's launched an adaptor that connects its digital flat-panel displays with the new PowerBook G4.

The Apple DVI (Digital Video Interface) to ADC (Apple Display Connector) Adaptor connects all of Apple's digital, flat-panel displays, including the new 23-inch Cinema HD Display via the PowerBook G4's DVI port.

The adaptor also adds a second Apple flat-panel display to selected Power Mac G4 configurations, including models with the new NVidia GeForce 4 Titanium graphics processor.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, said: "Our PowerBook users have been asking for the ability to connect to our amazing line of all-digital, flat-panel displays. This adaptor fulfils that need perfectly by allowing them to triple desktop workspace to 3.4 million pixels in stunning digital quality."

The adaptor includes an integrated power supply, an AC power cord and a 2-metre cable with USB and DVI.

The Apple DVI to ADC Adaptor is available on the US Apple Store for $149 (price excludes VAT). Apple has yet to post pricing details on the UK site.
