Apple's buoyant iPod sales continue to drive its thirst for flash memory with reports that it is looking for a third supplier of the precious commodity.

DigiTimes this morning claims Apple is asking Hynix Semiconductor to furnish quotes for such memory, this time for its iPod shuffles. The report states the Californian firm is turning to South Korea to source 512Mb and 1GB flash memory modules.

The report also predicts flash memory prices will decline slightly this month.
