Apple has made 100 world music loops for GarageBand available as a free download for .Mac members.

The loops are a small selection taken from the latest GarageBand JamPack, World Music. It's a collection of world loops, ethnic percussion, exotic strings, and regional wood instruments.

The full £69 (including VAT) package contains over 3,000 Apple loops and 40 software instruments, which Apple claims lets users, "create music from virtually every region and genre in the world."

.Mac members can also download 100 loops each from the preceding three Jam Packs: Symphony Orchestra, Remix Tools and Rhythm Section.

The included audio samples can be used to build a foundation for solos, or to create entire compositions.

The World Music collection includes sitars, flamenco guitars, Russian Balailaka, Persian Santoor, Native American flutes, Highlands Bagpipes, Celtic Tin Whistles, Indian Shehhai Oboe, Peruvian Panpipes and many more instrumental sounds and rhythm patterns from across the planet.
