Apple is offering 20 per cent off one-year subscriptions to the Apple Developer Connection.

Select Membership is available for $400 rather than $500. Members receive a special orientation kit, the Mac OS X Public Beta, the Developer Tools CD and Mac OS X system overview documentation.

Members will also receive the latest build of Mac OS X, and will be seeded with new software for the period of membership.

Priority Apple says it "wants developers to get the Mac OS X Public Beta and the Developer Tools CD as soon as possible".

Other benefits include technical support, special discounts and other inducements to join Apple’s independent developers group.

Members can also access Apple’s Developer Connection TV, which streams world-wide developer’s conference sessions, including those on Aqua, Carbon, Cocoa, Java and WebObjects.

The offer ends September 30.
